What We Do

Services

Four integrated capabilities under one roof: engineering rigor applied to physical products, software, storefronts, and the programs that deliver them.

Product Design & Manufacturing

End-to-end hardware development for experimental aircraft and RC aviation / UAS: CAD design, structural testing, and on-demand additive manufacturing. Engineering-grade materials are our specialty: carbon-fiber composites (PA-CF, PPS-CF), nylons, PEBA, TPU, ASA, self-lubricating polymers, etc.

  • Mechanical design & iterative prototyping
  • Custom test equipment & field validation
  • Additive manufacturing: on-demand & small-batch runs
  • BOM development & supplier sourcing
  • Custom, purpose-driven ergonomic tool design

Custom Software, AI & Engineering Tools

Browser-based engineering applications: calculators, optimizers, and analysis tools that run anywhere with no installation, validated with automated regression testing.

  • Interactive web apps for technical analysis
  • Optimization & parametric design tools
  • AI-assisted workflows, automation & agent integration
  • Fixture-based verification harnesses

E-Commerce & Web Consulting

Storefront builds, migrations, and modernization for small online retailers, with the operational details handled. For our B2B design clients, we also prep products for resale: renderings, photos, descriptions, whatever the launch needs.

  • BigCommerce theme migration & brand refresh
  • Product launch & catalog management
  • Product renderings, animations & retail-ready content
  • AI-assisted knowledge bases
  • EU & US compliance and site QA

Program & Project Management

PMP- and CSM-certified program leadership honed over 25+ years at American Express, Wells Fargo, and LifeLock/Symantec, available to organizations that need complex initiatives delivered.

  • Program & portfolio management
  • Agile coaching & team delivery
  • Process design & continuous improvement
  • Compliance & systems integration programs

Engineering outline of a WingBones carbon-fiber composite wing joiner
Direct-to-Consumer Product Line

WingBones: Precision Wing Joiners

Carbon-fiber composite wing joiners for competition sailplanes, designed, tested, and manufactured on-demand in Chandler, Arizona. Validated with custom deflection and crash-threshold test equipment plus CAD stress simulation. World-champion pilots are flying them. Available at wingbones.com.

Engineering Software

Angle Lab: RC Sailplane Wing Geometry Optimizer

A browser-based analysis and optimization tool built 100% for one purpose: RC sailplane wing geometry. Angle Lab takes a genuinely complex aerodynamics problem and makes it simple for pilots who aren’t engineers, guiding balanced design compromises through interactive configuration, side-by-side comparison, and an automated optimizer. It reflects a core WestVector strength: turning something complex into something simple through software engineering and refinement.

Experimental Aircraft

Experimental Aircraft Components: Design & Production

Custom-engineered components for experimental aircraft: cabin and interior hardware, engine-compartment accessories, and external non-structural parts. Current production includes tow bar handles, mounts, and accessory mounts. This is business-to-business work: we design and produce components that our clients sell under their own brands, so we never compete with them in the consumer market.

E-Commerce Consulting

Aviation Parts Retailer: Storefront Modernization

Full BigCommerce replatforming for an established aviation parts retailer: theme migration to the modern Stencil framework, brand refresh, legacy content transfer, new product launches, and ongoing site support, including keeping the store compliant with both EU and US consumer regulations.

Who We Are

About WestVector

WestVector Solutions LLC was founded in 2022 by Randy West, an industrial engineer (B.S., Purdue University) and PMP/CSM-certified program manager. Randy began his career in manufacturing engineering, designing production processes, systems, and facilities for high-tech manufacturing. He then spent more than 25 years delivering complex technical programs, software, and systems at American Express, Wells Fargo, and LifeLock/Symantec. WestVector brings him back to his manufacturing roots.

What began as 3D-printed wing joiners for fellow competition pilots grew into a business serving the aviation community and beyond. Randy competes nationally in RC soaring across the USA and has also competed internationally. He co-founded the Southwest Soaring Society and brings the same field-tested engineering discipline to every client project.
